In this session, Jay Heidecker will take us through a comprehensive overview that highlights the critical intersection of AI and Cybersecurity. Jay will discuss the rise of AI in various sectors, the evolving landscape of cybersecurity threats, how AI is used to detect and respond, and offer examples of AI in action for things like anomaly detection and pattern recognition.
Jay will also feed us some current AI challenges and risks, including ethics and privacy, the Dual Use Dilemma (i.e. defense AND offense), show us some future AI and Cybersecurity possibilities such as predictive analytics, threat anticipation, proactive measures. Rising beyond the technical, he'll also explore public perception and trust for AI systems among the general public, and the importance of transparency and accountability in AI-driven security.

Jay Heidecker is a seasoned technology expert and entrepreneur based in Calgary, Alberta. With a career spanning over two decades, Jay has established himself as a leader in the cybersecurity field. He is the Chief Technology Officer at Seekintoo, a company known for its cutting-edge cybersecurity services and solutions. Prior to his current role, Jay served as the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Seekintoo, where he led the company from its inception in 2012 until 2022.
Before his entrepreneurial journey, Jay was a Technology Consultant at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and has held various senior positions in the industry, including Security Consultant at ArcSight. His expertise in systems and infrastructure, combined with his proprietary iterative methodologies, has helped keep hackers at bay and safeguard numerous private and public sector clients.
