SPIE is an organization of professionals with responsibility in the information and systems security area. Members may include representatives from large or small organizations, consultants, educators, public sector, vendors or others who can contribute to and benefit from the society. SPIE is open to all regardless of professional qualifications or experience.

Education Institution Membership (EIM)
 
Designed specifically to allow post secondary institutions to participate as members of SPIE. This is an open membership allowing for maximum flexibility to education institutions so that they may directly control the benefits of membership as they see fit. In addition to the general membership benefits, SPIE offers faculty and students the opportunity to interact with industry to grow and learn together. For the students SPIE is a conduit for networking with potential employers and a chance to present and showcase their skills and knowledge. Consisting of one flat fee and 20 membership licences, this type of membership has been devised to meet the challenges and demands of post secondary education. Please contact SPIE directly if interested in acquiring an EIM membership.

Honourary Membership
 
An honourary membership has been created to recognize those that make a significant sacrifice and contribution to security on a daily basis, or have made a difference in the past. Honourary Members are capped at a maximum limit of 10 memberships and all must be approved by the Board of Directors. If you think someone is deserving, please nominate them to the Board of Directors by presenting their name and a short narrative as to why the individual should be awarded an Honourary Membership.
